Hey Guys! Today we came across an awesome new group from the UK called Life of Dillon. They premiered the music video for their debut single, “Overload,” on Teen Vogue’s official site today. The chill, cool vibe from the guys sure does set the mood for summer. We definitely think “Overload” could be our next summer anthem!
The visual features the group—David Keiffer and brothers Joe and Robert Griffith—performing the acoustic-tinged electronic anthem in the midst of a breezy beach gathering. The song’s lithe melodies and danceable grooves make for a prime summer anthem and the perfect gateway into Life of Dillon’s inimitable style, sound, and soul. Its audio has already accumulated nearly half a million plays on YouTube. On airwaves, it reached #36 at Top 40 and #30 at Hot AC this week, while still moving up the charts.
Hot off a performance at Live in the Vineyard this past weekend, the triumvirate continues to receive critical acclaim for “Overload.” Teen Vogue wrote, “Everyone’s quickly becoming obsessed with the infectious new track,” Dancing Astronaut claimed, “Life of Dillon explore a unique side of the dance music spectrum,” and ARTISTdirect dubbed it “Song of the Week,” saying, “You’ve never heard anything like this, and that’s a downright amazing thing.”
“Overload” also serves as a prelude to the group’s first EP, Prologue [Disruptor Records/Epic Records], out soon.
This summer, Life of Dillon will join Meghan Trainor’s highly anticipated summer headline jaunt, THE MTRAIN TOUR. It begins Friday, July 3 at Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ.
The group initially came to life in 2014, when David joined forces with longtime friends Joe and Robert. Inspired by a free-spirited stranger named Dillon whom they met in the brothers’ birthplace of Brazil, they flew home to London galvanized and driven to write. They carved out an elegant middle ground between dance music and acoustic pop. Life Of Dillon then inked a deal with Disruptor Records—a recently launched joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment CEO Doug Morris and The Chainsmokers’ manager Adam Alpert.
